Factory Ideas Board

Have the ability to create a sales order from the mobile app instead of just using a browser.

It would be very useful if Factory provided a secure read-only API or data connector so authorised business data could be analysed using external reporting and AI tools such as ChatGPT Work / OpenAI Data, Power BI and similar platforms. Factory already contains valuable information across quotes, jobs, customers, products, costs and job statuses. Having secure access to this data would allow us to analyse things such as: Quote conversion / win rates Sales and quoting trends over time Revenue by customer, product or job type Estimated vs actual costs and margins Jobs won/lost and reasons Customer quoting history Product/material usage Estimator and salesperson performance Ideally this could be provided through a documented API with read-only access by default, authentication/permissions, and selectable data scopes. If a direct API or ChatGPT connector isn't practical, a scheduled CSV/JSON export or database/reporting connector would also be useful. The goal is to avoid manually exporting reports from Factory each time and allow businesses to build their own dashboards, analytics and AI-assisted reporting while keeping Factory as the main source of data.

Issue: Currently, employees with Productivity access cannot directly clock on or off from the main screen of the app. Instead, they must follow a lengthy process: Open the job Click on Job Details Navigate to Tracking Select the item they want to book time against Then click Clock On To clock off, they must repeat this entire process again after reopening the app. This process is time-consuming and impractical, especially for urgent jobs or when workers switch between multiple jobs in a day. It discourages proper time tracking and opens the door for excuses around missed bookings and deadline issues. Why It Matters: Our workshop operates under tight deadlines. Some workers switch between 3–4 jobs a day, others may work on one job for a week. We need to make clocking on and off as quick and simple as possible to encourage compliance and accuracy. Requested Solution: Introduce a streamlined Clock On/Off Shortcut for users with Productivity access, either: Directly from the home screen/dashboard, or Via a persistent "Clock On/Off" button that remembers the last job/item used, or Provide a job/item selection screen immediately after tapping "Clock On," skipping the multiple-step navigation. The goal is to minimise steps and improve usability, without compromising access restrictions or data accuracy.

For people in the field, we need a handy way to create a new customer and input their contact details at the very least. Creating a sales order from the phone app would be good too.

Add "Square Feet" and "Lineal Feet" to "Product is bought/sold in" for Product settings.

Add custom folders in Collaborate to better organise attachments

Enable open API to map fields between Factory and ecommerce, Pipe Drive etc

Add ability to configure the date format for display within Factory and within templates to customers (quote, invoice, etc). Some example formats: yyyy-mm-dd (ISO format) mm-dd-yyyy (US format)

Capture invoice payments from your customers, directly through Factory.

Would it be possible to add the option to view the total costs (GST-exclusive) of Linked Orders in to the Dynamic Table on the Sales Orders page? Currently we can select 'Linked Orders' but it just lists the PO numbers attached and not the price. Ultimately, we would love to see on our Sales Order 'homescreen' our Costs on the SO + Linked Orders Costs on the attached POs. Thanks.
